개요

This course introduces essential principles, engineering, and applications of biomedical imaging at nano-to-macro scales for convergence research. This course will be categorized into three major sections: biomedical optical imaging, medical imaging, and nano-bio imaging. Topics include fundamentals of electromagnetics and optics, geometrical optics, optical system performance, microscope, optical imaging modality, ultrasound imaging, photoacoustic imaging, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, x-ray imaging, AI based medical image processing, electron beam imaging, ion beam imaging, and scanning probe imaging. The fundamental physics and engineering underlying each imaging modality are reviewed and the practical applications are examined. The class involves hand-on practices to give the student experience in several different imaging systems available at DGIST.
