This course is for learning about the computation using the parallel systems consisting of multiple processors and using the distributed systems consisting of multiple autonomous computers that communicate through a computer network. This covers the following four major programming techniques : (1) distributed-memory programming with Message Passing Interface (MPI), (2) Shared-memory programming with multi-threading, (3) Shared-memory programming with OpenMP, and (4) General-purpose computing on graphics processing units(GPGPU) programming using NVIDIA CUDA.
